Generally no. The grant and the first home buyer stamp duty exemption are for new homes, off the plan purchases and house and land packages. If you buy an established home you usually will not receive either.
Written by Ross McFarlane, Licensed Mortgage Broker (Credit Representative 526725). About the authorThe grant exists to support new housing, so an established home that has been lived in before does not qualify for the grant or the stamp duty exemption in South Australia. You can still use federal schemes such as the First Home Guarantee on an established home, so the choice between new and established has a real dollar value worth weighing before you sign.
